Happy hump day!
I’ve had this dress for almost two years and I still love it as much as the day I bought it. The length, fabric, pattern, style – everything, really – makes me love it more each time I wear it. Sometimes I get sucked into the consumerism part of fashion blogging and I feel like I’m always thinking about the next thing that will “complete” my wardrobe instead of taking things day by day. I’ll spend hours looking at clothes I’m definitely not going to buy and end up feeling defeated because I wasted so much time when I could have been doing other, more productive things.
Jerry Seinfeld has a joke where he talks about how as adults we are always looking toward the next thing. If we’re at work and we have dinner plans, we are looking forward to going out to dinner. But when we get to dinner, we’re immediately looking forward to going home. And the cycle continues. This joke hit a little close to home for Evan and me, so I’ve been trying to appreciate the present moment – whatever that looks like – and take things as they come. The same can be said for your current job situation or even the state of your wardrobe. A little bit of mindfulness every day goes a long way.
Anyway, that’s my little mindfulness PSA for the week. Enjoy the outfit post!
Thanks for stopping by!
