I’ve been looking for some new items to compliment my summer capsule, including this black slip dress by La Causa, a new ethical clothing brand I found, and considering some high waisted jeans as well. I’ve also been musing over this shape for a while now, but I’m worried it won’t be as flattering on curvier body types (but can you argue with 3,235 reviews?). What do you think?
I’ve also been rocking this low bun all month because it looks chic and requires little to no effort! Plus, my hair is a weird length for me and I haven’t been happy with many hairstyles recently.
It was a creative month in May! I made some tassel earrings, a circle top in seersucker material, and a linen tie top. It’s crazy because it feels like it’s been a while since I’ve really made things a now BOOM, 3 new DIYs!
I want one of my focuses for my summer capsule to be making new tops to add to it. I have a dream of having a 100% me-made wardrobe, and I need to practice if I’m going to get there! Do you know of any fun summer top DIYs I should try?

I’ve recently gotten into World War Z – a book I borrowed from a friend a while ago and haven’t started until now. So good!
I have also been reading The Unabridged Journals of Silvia Plath, I love her subtly poetic words and I envy her ability to make even the most mundane events beautiful and fascinating.
Do you have any good book recommendations?
I know I mentioned last month in my April Instagram Snaps post about how I’m looking for new ways to get back into a fitness routine, and I think I’ve found one I love! A new yoga studio opened up close by my apartment and I have started doing Aerial yoga and hot yoga during the week. I try to go once daily, and I find it really helps center me and take me out of my everyday worries. I also joined a summer challenge at the studio to do 45 classes by July 31st, so that helps with my accountability as well. It’s really exciting to see small improvements in my flexibility over the weeks and to have a fitness schedule to stick to.
Evan and I took a little weekend trip here to celebrate memorial day and unwind a bit. We practiced vlogging (which does take practice, honestly) and Evan played with his new drone (that he’s CRAZY about!). We swam, kayaked, and made s’mores by the campfire staying in our yurt, which was a first time for us!
We’re planning a trip to Savannah, GA in the coming months and we’re really excited!
