5 Easy Trends to Add to Your Spring Wardrobe

Gearing up for the spring, this is the time to take a look at recent trends and see what can be added to our curated closets. I’ve almost finished creating my capsule for spring (more to come on that later!) but I know I will still want to feel like I have a lot of variety with my smaller wardrobe.

One of the best ways to do this is by looking to accessories and simple clothing pieces, and the below are trends that I’ve had my eye on for a while and am now starting to incorporate (slowly-ish) into my closet. Whenever I feel like my closet needs a facelift, I always start with accessories. Accessories are typically cheaper and don’t take up much closet space, and typically aren’t the investment pieces I will feel tied to if I decide they’re not for me.

I am really really excited about this list for a few of reasons:

  • All of these items can be found for around $20 or less (I’ve listed more expensive versions as well).
  • Mostly being accessories, these items can easily be incorporated into any style pretty seamlessly.
  • These items are all small, meaning they can easily be stored during and out of season.

I’ve been musing over the western belt for a while now, and it seems they have all but taken over Pinterest! I don’t know that this will be a lasting staple in wardrobes, but it’s a fun accessory to add to a minimal outfit.

Slogan tees hit the runway this time last year, and they don’t seem to be going anywhere. These are one of my absolute favorite trends on this list because they’re sooo comfy and you can let your personality shine through without saying a word. I love all of the feminist tees I’ve been seeing around recently (especially the subtle ones like #1 and #4). Since working in a corporate setting my appreciation and drive for feminism and equality in the workplace has grown dramatically. So wear your #girlpower across your chest, where it belongs.

Baseball caps are an underused accessory by far. You get to hide any unfavorable roots AND protect your pretty face from the sun. Need more convincing?  There are so many awesome choices for baseball caps that they can fit whatever style you have.

Bandanas are my everything right now! I just took the leap and got two silk bandanas from Madewell and they are seriously the best. Why opt for silk over the traditional bandana? The silk versions lay very nicely and have a very subtle polished look to them. Not to mention they take up zero space and there are so many different ways to wear them! What more could you want from an accessory?!

As we simplify our everyday wardrobe, more attention is brought to the hair. I recently purchased the #4 hairclip (in gold) and it gives me just the little lift I need in my look. On top of that, all of these options are under $20 and you can really get creative with how you wear them. Yes, Please!

I hope you liked this list! I try to be super selective when adding things to my wardrobe, and I’m really passionate about these items right now. I can’t wait to share my outfit posts incorporating some of these looks!

What are some trends that have stood the test of time for you?
