Sandals in the Rain + 3 Questions to Ask Your Poshmark Seller

I’ve been crushing hard on square silk scarves for some time now (as you can see here) and thinking long and hard about incorporating them more regularly in my wardrobe. I got this one from H&M, and though I usually don’t shop there I wanted an inexpensive trial option to wear around before I made the decision to spend more on a quality scarf. This one only cost $10 and is awfully similar to this silk bandana by Madewell. I still may have to snag one in the peach color to add a pop of color to my spring wardrobe.

I’ve been working to plan my spring capsule well as I may finally have the opportunity to really focus on the clothes I love and am comfortable in everyday. I’ve been doing a lot of my shopping in Poshmark and I haven’t been disappointed yet! I found a pair of Topshop slides, these white Birkenstocks, and a pair of AYR mid rise shorts (that I have been drooling over since last summer) all for half retail price or less! Shopping through apps and online can be difficult, but I love that you can message the seller with questions about their products to make sure you’re making the best decision.

When buying from Poshmark I always ask the seller:

  1. Does this fit true to size?
  2. Lengths on dresses, tops, and shorts on my frame (I’m 5′ 4″).
  3. Why are you selling this item?

If you often fall victim to impulse buys, I would NOT recommend Poshmark as a place to look regularly. Many of the items for sale are far more affordable than retail (as you can see from my experience) but if you aren’t asking the right questions and buying because an item is a “good deal” you will still likely end up with buyers remorse even if the item was a really good deal.

Poshmark is best when you have certain items you’re looking for (in my case, those AYR shorts) but may not want to pay full price. It’s also best to start looking for spring items now as you can get a better price because they’re not in full demand and you aren’t going to be as heavily influenced by impulse buys because these items are for the next season.

I know it’s probably still pretty snowy and cold in most areas of the globe, but things are heating up here in Georgia. We had some rain that brought the temperature got up to 78 degrees yesterday, and I was able to drive home from work with the top down on my car for the first time in ages!
